Thalia Follies: Music Man parody

Part of the October 2008 Thalia Follies at New York City's Symphony Space, this send-up of the Christian Right was written by Mary Brienza.  Gregory sings "We Need a Christian" to the tune of "We Got Trouble."  At a time when McCain's campaign was whispering about Obama's "secret" Muslim tendencies, this parody kicks the third rail of electoral politics - religion.

Jane Curtin (seated far right) backs up Gregory along with (from left) Leenya Rideout, Mary Brienza, Kathryn Markey, Marion Cowings, and Ivy Austin.

Inspired by the longest election cycle in American history, this edition of the Thalia Follies was dubbed, "At Last - An Election!" . . .The sketch-and-song night was produced by Martin Sage, directed by Isaiah Sheffer .
