Gregory Plays George Washington in World Premiere

Gregory has been cast as General George Washington in the world premiere of Yorktown, a drama set during the climactic battle of the Revolutionary War.

Written by Robert Manns, Yorktown runs August 6th - 28th at the Abingdon Theatre in New York City.  The play follows Washington and his two top generals, Nathaneal Greene and Henry Knox, as they draw up plans for the battle that would swing the momentum of the war in favor of the American colonies.

Eric C. Dente directed and produced the piece through The Drama Garden.  Also starring James Knight as Greene, Jenny Strassburg as his wife Caty, Andrew Kaempfer as Knox, and Chloe Rose as his wife Lucy.

With the role of Washington, Gregory continues a recent trend of playing historical figures, including football legend Paul "Bear" Bryant in the world premiere of Bear Country (Alabama Shakespeare Festival) and Senator Henry Cabot Lodge in Year One of the Empire (Metropolitan Playhouse).
